Find and replace text placed in Muffin Builder across a whole WordPress site.

Hi. I've builded wordpress site based on BeTheme, in all pages i use Muffin Builder to add content. Now i need to change brand name that appear on each page in many places. I tried to perform it via phpMyadmin in database using regular Search and Replace SQL Code, but with no luck. Please advice where can i find MuffinBuilder entries in the database, or maybe use some plugin like Muffin Content Builder Migrate Tool.

  • Hi,

unfortunately it is not possible to find any content from muffin builder inside database because whole content is encoded. This must be like that because only then content is safe and everything can work properly. But the only tool we have is Mfn CB Migrate Tool you mentioned above.

    Thanks for understanding!
  • Hi, thanks for fast and clear reply.

I understand the idea behind of how its must work, along to this, must be functionality that answer on my needs. So i have find the solution based on your great Fn CB Migrate Tool plugin, it work for me quite well.

If someone have same problem, ask and i'll tell how to solve it.

    Thanks. Best regards PandaTS
  • Hey panda, im facing the same problem here.
Do you mind giving me a hint?

    Hi @justaquit,

in case that you need to find and replace some text and not only the URL's in your project, you may use the Fn CB Migrate Tool plugin but with small changes. Just comment two "if" conditions:
    1. first that check the $safety_limit;
    2. second that check that there http in search request.

then the great Fncb Migrate Tool plugin will find and replace any text in the project.

    @PandaTS,

Which lines did you edit out?  I am having a bit of trouble getting it to work. :)

EDIT: NM I got it.  Thanks so much for pointing that out @PandaTS!!  Saved so much time!!

  • Your welcome, I happy to know that it was helpful.
  • Hi, how can we search and replace text by batch? The migration tool is only for URL, what file shall we change?
  • @dworgco We are sorry but we do not have such possibility unfortunately.

    Hi All,

here is a link to my edited version of muffin migrate tool:

[Links visible only for registered users]

with this one you can find and replace any text content inserted via Muffin Content Builder.

    Works with Muffin Builder 3

  • You guys should incorporate that plugin above into your theme. I only had 10 pages but needed to switch one word to another and the instances of that word was probably around 100-150, that would of taken a while to do manually updating each page going through each section to do. That plugin above saved me hours. Just thought I would mention that.
  • Hey there,

Adding Dropbox link to Muffin migrate all tool:
  • Hey Panda, when I go to the dropbox folder, it wont let me download as a plugin or even copy the code, is this a new version of the find replace in order to switch out all the content, title tags etc.
  • You're a hero Panda, it works!
  • MFN MIGRATE only works with URL's not text.  How does one change 100 words when Search & Replace doesn't work?
  • Please do not use search&replace, it will scrumble your database. Yes, our plugin searches only for links. The content is up to the user and we do not have any plugin or sollution to change text in the database. We suggest you do it manually.
    thanks

Boo! This makes developing with BeTheme very inconvenient.
  • Bryan, I used that plugin all the time, works great for urls.  I did try the edited one from PandaTS and it seemed to work well.  Please advise.
  • I do not quite understand what you need.
We do not know all of the plugins with search&replace functionality so we strongly suggest not to use them, because they can corrupt the database records.

Of course, some of them could work correct, but some of them could not and when you will corrupt your website we will not be able to recover them.
Then, the only way will be by restoring a backup, but not everyone are doing them.

    thanks
