How to change background colors for theme

I'm not finding the location in the builder to change the background color used in the main feature area as well as some of the elements/blocks on the page. They are set to a purplish/blue color and I'm trying to change them to a lighter shade of blush. So far when I input the hex # for the color I'd like, it is not changing. Can you advise where this is changed at?
