"Blog News" shortcode excerpt for posts

Not sure if this has been asked but I can't find an answer so I'm sorry if this is a repeat.

We want to use the "Blog News" shortcode to display our latest posts for a certain category, but the shortcode by default doesn't display an excerpt of the post text; So is there a good way to do this in a similar fashion to how the "Blog News" shortcode displays? Or can we modify the "Blog News" shortcode to display an excerpt?

    Hi,

    unfortunately we do not have similar shortcode which display excerpt. If you want to modify this item, you can do this yourself in functions/theme-shortcodes.php file because there is no other way to display excerpts with this item.
