Images Are Not Displaying Properly in Different Monitor Sizes

I am using the Template Architect 6.

For my portfolio featured images I am using images 1920x609 pixels.

When I access my website it displays fine in my monitor but in other monitors the images are cropped. How can I fix this?

Also, what is the recommended size (in pixels) and ratio of the images for this theme so that the portfolio images are not cropped and they are displayed correctly on the slider but also on all the other places these images appear (for example in the portfolio page that lists the different projects under the header image)?
