Portfolio Grid Layout - Same size thumbnails

Hello,

After the recent update (8.4 to 8.7), my portfolio list page (Grid Layout) and also the Portfolio widget on home page displays the thumbnails with relative dimensions to the original image. I would prefer to square them on the grid layout (It used to be like that). What can I do to restore the original look.

Please advice.

Hi,

was everything ok before the updated? Did you tried to use https://wordpress.org/plugins/force-regenerate-thumbnails/ as well?

Yes, it was Ok before the update. And I've not updated any images, so not sure why regenerate thumbnails should help. I think it is due because the box honors the aspect ratio of the image. Do you have any idea of how to make it crop/ stretch when the images have difference aspect ratios?

We changed portfolio items sizes a little bit with recent update because many users were asking about an option to select number of columns for portfolio items. And because this option need image sizes to be changed, we change them a little bit. So this could be the reason why your images has changed.

If you want to crop images, you must play with add_image_size() function under functions/theme-functions.php file.
