Compatible Member plugin

Hi there,

I need to create some pages on the site that are viewable by authorised users who can sign in with an email address and password. Is there a plugin you recommend, such as WP-Members.

Thanks.

  • Hi,

You can find a list of supported plugins under the following link:

    https://support.muffingroup.com/documentation/bundled-plugins/#compatibility

From the member plugin, you can try BuddyPress.

  • Hi Phil,

Thanks for getting back to me. Will this plugin will allow me to block access to certain pages unless people are signed in?

    Alex

  • I don't anything too complicated. BuddyPress seems like possible overkill. I just need to block access to pre-determined pages so that residents of an apartment block can see this restricted content. Each person will need to be registered on the site with an email address and a password.

  • As I know, this plugin does not have such a feature by default, but you can try the solutions mentioned in this topic:

    https://buddypress.org/support/topic/disable-member-page-to-non-logged-in-users/

You can try other plugins, but please note that we do not support any plugins other than the ones listed in the links I sent in my first message. If you have any problems with other plugins, we will not be able to help, and you will have to contact the plugin author instead.

  • Hi Phil,

What if I create the "Member" pages just in the core Wordpress block builder and not use the BeTheme Builder for those pages? Can I then use something like WP-Member to lock out those pages?

    Alex

  • Sorry, but I do not quite understand.

Can you explain that in more detail, please?

    Thanks

  • HI Phil,

The idea of the website is that there is some publicly viewable content and the rest is for registered residents only. WP-Members, for example, does not work with BeTheme, you restrict a page and the BeBuilder content still shows.

I have since experimented with the idea of building the pages for the residents in Wordpress only and not using the BeTheme builder and WP-Members does then work in restricting access to these pages.

The publicly viewable pages are done with the BeBuilder, and the restricted access ones in core Wordpress and that seems to work as it should.

Hope that info proves useful as I have seen other similar questions to this on the forums.

  • I am happy to see that you handled it.

What you could try to make BeBuilder content work with with plugin is to use the Conditional logic. This feature do not work for the entire page, but you can assign it to each section, and create a separate content for not-logged users that will display e.g. "Log in to see the content" or something like that.

However, please note that we did not test the plugin you mentioned, so I cannot gurantee that it will work, but if it base on a WP login status then there should be no problems.

  • Hi Phil,

Thanks for sending this over, and that's a really interesting suggestion. Will test that out too.
