Display Discrepancy: Admin vs Incognito View

Hello,

When I add a new social media icon to the header (Template), everything looks fine in the admin view, but in Incognito mode it only shows one icon, and that one appears in a different shade.

There's also an anomaly in the footer — in Incognito mode the second icon doesn't show at all, while in the admin view it does.

What could be causing this and how can solve it?

Thanks!

  • Hi,

I am almost certain that some cache on your website causes it.

If you have any caching plugin, purge the cache from it, and check if the icons appear correctly.

If you do not have any plugins, you might have some server cache, and regarding this you should contact your hosting provider.

    Hi,

Yes, thank you, WP Rocket is causing it, very weird

  • It is common that cache changes are visible only in the admin.

That is why it is crucial to purge the cache (when you have it active) after making changes.

  • If I don’t click REMOVE UNUSED CSS under Optimize CSS delivery and don’t activate it (ACTIVATE REMOVE UNUSED CSS), then the icons are displayed, but the speed score drops significantly — it's only 62 and 78. However, when the feature is activated, the loading speed is good — 83 and 97 — but the icons no longer appear.

  • Do you use Font Awesome on our website? If no, then you can disable them in Theme options -> Performance:

The performance improvement should be similar.

  • Hi,

WP Rocket support already solved it.

    Best,

    Steve
