GDPR 2.0 – Reopen cookie modal after consent?

Hello everyone,

I’m currently working with the GDPR 2.0 modal and have a specific question:

Is there a way to open the cookie modal (i.e. the window for consent or changing cookie settings) afterwards via a link – for example, through a footer link like “Change cookie settings”?

I can’t find any built-in function or class in the module that would allow triggering the modal manually. The initialization on page load works perfectly, but triggering it manually after consent doesn’t seem to be supported – or I might be missing something.

Thanks in advance!

  • Hi,

There is no such option yet, but we have it on our to-do list.

  • Thanks for your response.

Since the ability to change cookie settings retroactively is a legal requirement under the GDPR, I’d like to ask when exactly this feature is planned for implementation. The GDPR mandates that users must be able to withdraw or adjust their consent at any time, so it’s surprising that a consent tool targeting the European market doesn’t currently support this.

This is not just a usability feature – it’s a legal necessity, and therefore should be treated as a high-priority issue.

Additionally, is there any workaround available at the moment – for example, a JavaScript or PHP snippet – that would allow us to manually reopen the modal (e.g. via a footer link like “Change cookie settings”)?

Thanks in advance for any update or temporary solution you can provide.

    Best regards

  • It will be done in about a week or two.

    Best regards
