Background for mega menu can be set under Appearance > Menus section where "Background Image URL" field for menu items is. Of course menu items must be "Mega menu". But to change footer background, please use below css:
Still does NOT work...tried as suggested with direct link to the Background image URL and activating the mega menu option...background does not change to the respective image.
As we see, background is not big enough and that's why is full width. You should upload larger background image. The best one will be 1920px width (full HD size).
If you mean "Knowledge" menu background, it looks fine in our opinion. But if this is not what you need, then you can control it's position with below css:
#Top_bar .menu > li > ul.mfn-megamenu-bg { background-position: center; }
Actually, what i mean is that even though i uploaded a 1920 px width image....it is stretching beyond the last menu item....ideally, it is supposed to end after the last menu item, i.e FAQ ...but currently it is stretching beyond FAQ....Kindly advise a solution please.
It is stretching beyond the FAQ because you used too many columns in mega menu. If you want to fix it, you must use less columns or you can use below css but the last item will go under the first row:
