Portfolio Slider
Hi!
On my homepage, I'd like to include a side scrolling showcase of physical, printed miniatures I've done. It'd include PNG cutouts. I've cropped them at at a 5:7 ratio (but not all currently sized, pixel wise, the same dimensions). This is what I'm currently getting:
How do I get them to not be cropped? And how can I make them even smaller? They're currently set to "small" size.
This is what I would like to see (5-6 images wide and then the minis would animate/side scroll so we see even more printed examples):
Also, I believe I might be missing something (a plugin?) because when I add new Portfolio Items, I'm missing the sidebar that's showed in the how-to video that allows you to set the featured image and category.

I have the OTHER sidebar on the left that allowed me to add elements, but that's it. I can at least set the featured image this way, but not the categories.
I have to set the categories on this page instead:
The video says Gutenberg plugin. I don't have that installed. (I may have accidentally deleted while trying to purge unused/unknown plugins in attempts to speed up my site). How can I fix this?

Regarding the sidebar with the Featured Image field, click on this icon:
Regarding the slider, I suggest using the Query Loop:
