Every time I edit this, it reverts back to the default styling. Why is this happening and how can i keep the changes permanent?

It is content from the products.
Did you edit your products contents?

No, I made the edit from the single product builder page and then clicked edit content. I wanted this to have a sitewide change on all products, not one by one. but if that is the case, i will just have to ammend each product one by one
is there a way to create that content so all products change at the same time?
As the name of the element indicates, it is a Product Content. It means that this part is pulled directly from the products.
So this area is not global and individual for every product.
If you want to have the same content on all products in that place, remove the Product Content element and replace it with the elements you need.
