BeBuilder[Visual editor for the product detail pages]

I’m trying to edit a product with BeBuilder, but it won’t let me. It only shows the “Start Creating” option. I already made a template, and I want to use that template for both the front end and back end of all my products. But I’m having trouble getting the visual editor to show up on the product detail pages.

  • Hi,

When you edit the product, you edit its content only (description area). That is why the template does not show there.

However, when you add content there and publish the product, you will notice that when you enter this product page, the content shows there where you set it in the template.

The content you highlighted with a red square is placed in the product description area, which is not editable with BeBuilder.

If you want to use BeBuilder for the product description, remove the part from the product description and then use BeBuilder.

  • Hi Phil,

Thank you for your time and reply.

I am still stuck because I’m trying to understand exactly how WooCommerce product pages are supposed to work with BeBuilder. I purchased Betheme assuming I could design my entire product page using BeBuilder, but it seems only certain parts are editable with BeBuilder, while other parts still depend on the default WooCommerce editor.

Can you please explain this in a very simple way so I can complete my project?

From your message, I understand that:

    • The Single Product Template controls the product layout
    • Only the product description content is editable inside the WooCommerce product editor
    • The template content does not appear inside the product editor
    • BeBuilder cannot fully replace WooCommerce fields
    • Some parts must be managed with BeBuilder, and some must remain in the standard WordPress/WooCommerce editor

Before I continue building my site, I need to confirm:

    1. Is it true that BeBuilder cannot fully edit or replace all WooCommerce product page content, and only certain sections (like the description) can be edited directly?

    2. Is the correct method to design the entire product layout once using a Single Product Template, and then use the WooCommerce product editor only for inserting product-specific data?

    3. If I want to design the full product description section visually using BeBuilder, what is the official recommended workflow? Should I remove the default description and place a Content Block instead?

I appreciate your help in clarifying this so I can finally complete my project.

  • 1) If the product content was made using the product description:

Then you cannot edit what is already placed there with BeBuilder. You can only add additional BeBuilder content.

If there is no product content, you can use BeBuilder to create it.

Anyway, I am not quite sure what else you would like to edit via BeBuilder. If you could elaborate on that.

    2) With the product template, you design the layout you want to apply to your products.

With product edition, you edit the specifics of the currently modified product, including its content.

Maybe following video tutorials will give you some light on this:

    3) Yes, you should remove the default description, and then use BeBuilder.
