Cannot change header colours irrespective of skin or options

Hey team, been trying to figure this one out for a few hours and I'm completely stumped. I am completely unable to change the colours of the headers/menu/action bar either through the Muffin Builder or by importing demo data. It seems to be locked somehow and I can't figure out why. The default white background behind it. Any idea why? Ultimately I would like it to look like BeKarting theme.
