I wonder if, for users mobile devices, I could ignore the mobile site and link directly to the website format (responsive), and need not click the footer link.

if you don't want to use responsive, you can turn it off under Theme options > Responsive section.

So if you want responsive mode on mobile devices, just turn on this mode. That's it.

Sorry but this is confusing what you write. Like we wrote above, if you will activate RESPONSIVE mode under Theme options > Responsive section, site will be loaded automatically in responsive mode on mobile devices. So we do not understand what else you want to do.

But what you show above is not a part of theme and to be honest, we have no idea where does it come from. You must have something set in the dashboard or on server side (.htaccess or something like that). Just switch to any other wp default theme and you will see that it's not theme issue.
