Header problems

Whenever navigating/clicking to a new page in the menu, the entire header area - header bar/background, logo and main menu - quickly move up to the top of the page, then move back down to where they should be. Earlier in the process of building the site, that was not the case - the menu stayed in place.

This is a desktop view issue, but something else happens in smartphone view. The header doesn’t stick to the top in some instances, causing the logo to get cut off. I’d rather the logo always be visible in all views

How can I keep the above two issues from happening, and make sure the header stays where it should be - stuck to the top, at all times.

  • Hi,

    1) This is how our headers works. If you don't like this effect, you supposed to use FIXED header style as this is the only header without this effect.

    2) On mobile devices, only menu icon can be sticky. It is unfortunately not possible to have sticky header on mobile.

    Thanks!
  • Hi,

Sorry, but you don’t seem to understand the problem. Did you look at the website (jameselamfihing.com)? If not, please do. If so, please look again and pay close attention…

Start on the home page then click on "Social" in the menu. See how the header jumps out of the frame, before settling into place? And how the image below the header moves up and crops wrong (or whatever you would call that effect). Does the same, though not quite as noticeably, on other pages.

THAT is the issue. I do want a sticky header. This one doesn’t just stick. It jumps up, then sticks. And I don’t want that. Sticky, yes. Jumpy, no.

As I said previously, what can I do to "make sure the header stays where it should be - stuck to the top, at all times."?

As far as the mobile issue goes, I can work around that, I think.

FYI: I had already tried most all settings - sticky header, fixed header, full-width, boxed, etc, before I asked original questions. Right now it is set as FIXED, and I still have this problem.

Anything you can suggest that could help me fix this issue would be much appreciated.

    Thanks
  • Yes, we did checked your site previously and of course we know what you mean. And like we wrote, if you want sticky but NO jumpy, you supposed to Fixed header style instead.

BTW We tried to check how Fixed header style looks like now, but we can't because all we see is http://pasteboard.co/2DE7m43O.png
  • Please look again. The site is still under development, so I generally turn on the "coming soon" plugin when not working on it. I waited several hours for a reply, then activated the plugin at EOD.

    Again:
    www.jameselamfishing.com

I’ll leave the "coming soon" plugin off for a while…

If you can’t see my "jumoy heasder" problem there, for any reason, please watch this Youtube screencast (ink[s] below):

    BTW:
BeThemes Header Options are now set at:

    Layout: Classic

    Options
    • BOX NOT CHECKED (TURNED OFF)
    • BOX NOT CHECKED (TURNED OFF)

      STICKY HEADER/Sticky: OFF

If there’s something else I need to turn ON or OFF to make the header "Fixed", please let me know. Or, is there another way to fix this issue? Code, shortcode, anything, please? Sorry, but just turning "Sticky header" OFF does not work.

      Thanks

  • Again, please excuse the typos…
  • Ok, we see what you mean but unfortunately there is nothing what you can do with with this behave. Header requires JS files which are loading at the end (after the content). But for that behave is responsible server speed as well. If server works fast, then this behave is invisible what you can see on our demos. But like we wrote, there is nothing unfortunately what you can do to eliminate this effect.

    Thanks for understanding!
  • OK. Thanks.
  • I am having the same issue. I wasn't having this issue until today and I've had my website for over a month. I've also noticed that sometimes this happens and other times it doesn't. Is there still nothing that can be done or is there reasoning as to why it sometimes happens and not other times?
  • My website is seamsjustrightbypam.com
  • @nwhite08 What is your problem exactly? Please describe it.
