Removing subheader from blog posts

Hi, i'm using Betheme with bepress demo site and i want to remove subheader from my blog posts. Right now title of blog post is shown twice, on subheader and in post and i don't want that. I know there is option to turn off subheader completely but i have pages where i need it.

Is there a way to turn off subheader only in blog posts?

Hi,

to remove subheader in blog posts only, you need to use the following css:

.single-post #Subheader { display: none !important; }

I have another problem with subheader, i can't change color. When I go to betheme options- colors- header and change subheader background color, nothing happens in frontend. I'm using betheme with bepress demo.

Please send us link to page where you change the background of Subheader in the back-end and the color didn't changed.

As I do have the same problem with the subheader in the blog sites I am happy to see the solution ;-) But: Where do I have to write the css, in the css style sheet or on each blog site? If in the style sheet: which one and where? If on each blog site: where exactly?

@lutzjaekel Each css supposed to be put under Theme options > Custom CSS & JS > Custom CSS section.

Thanks for your response. I pasted the code via paste & copy in the Custom CSS section. No results, the subheader is still visible on each single post. Please, see the screenshot. Any further ideas?

@lutzjaekel But from what we can see, what you got is intro section, not a subheader and this tile could be removed with the following css only:

#Intro .intro-title { display: none !important; }

@dalmacijabalote We did checked your site now and noticed that subheader's background colors comes from Theme options > Colors > Header section. However, if you are somehow magically not able to change this color, use custom css instead:

#Subheader { background-color: #000 !important; }

This solution does not fix the SEO problems related to having multiple h1 tags on these pages. Is there perhaps a hook that can be used to remove the code for the subhead on blog posts?

Okay.. I copied the header.php to the child theme folder, then changed line 84 from

if( ( mfn_opts_get('subheader') != 'all' ) &&
                    ( ! get_post_meta( mfn_ID(), 'mfn-post-hide-title', true ) ) &&
                    ( get_post_meta( mfn_ID(), 'mfn-post-template', true ) != 'intro' )    ){

to (I just added the check to see if the post type is single)

if( ( mfn_opts_get('subheader') != 'all' ) &&
                    ( ! get_post_meta( mfn_ID(), 'mfn-post-hide-title', true ) ) &&
                    ( get_post_meta( mfn_ID(), 'mfn-post-template', true ) != 'intro' ) && (!is_single())    ){

That seems to have done the job.

@GenLohre We have an option to remove single post title under Theme options > Blog, Portfolio & Shop > Blog > Single Post section.
