header placeholder image showing when I don't want it to

Hi, I'm using the onepage options with this theme, and I have turned on minimalist options so that the header image won't display at the top. I've even replaced the standard header image with a small transparent gliph png file so as to try and cut down on it's visibility when you scroll back to the top of the page.

But later I decided to add a featured image on my home page so that an image would be visible when I share the page to social media.

Unfortunately, what resulted was that the header placeholder then began showing my featured image when you scroll back to the top of the website. Please view the page to see what i'm talking about. Scroll down and then back up. As you scroll to the top, the header image displays for a second before going away again. Is there any way to prevent this from happening?
