Editing Shortcodes

I have enabled betheme child and header and style.css edits working fine. But when i try to edit shortcodes.css via betheme child the change doesn't takes place. If i edit manually at betheme parent shortcodes.css when i update theme files the change is lost. I tried to apply the css directly but that doesn't works. Please suggest me a solution to make changes in shortcodes.css without losing the change even after update. I tried with betheme child it doesn't seems to work.

Hi,

there is no need to modify files to make css edits. You can use all custom css's under Theme Options > Custom CSS & JS > Custom CSS section.

I tried that but the change doesn't take precedence unless i directly edit the shortcodes.css even though i tried to apply with !important but still it doesn't change.

You must did something wrong in Custom CSS section if your own custom css does not work. If you will show us how you did id and you send us link to page where you did it, we will have a look on it.

I don't want to sell stuff but i want products page and products with same functionalities which i can see at your shop page. Does it means i also have to install woocommerce in order to apply that same shop page features and layout?

Yes, you need to install WooCommerce because this shop page was made with WooCommerce plugin.

Also there is something wrong. For some reason i can't edit css via your provided css section and even with child theme css as i have that setuped. Please help on that as well.

To change sidebar position, please go to SHOP page edition and change sidebar position under Page Options section.

I am not using shop page. I am using be IT Service theme with woocommerce. FIrst get this sorted then we will proceed on other issue.

But SHOP page is a part of WooCommerce plugin. WooCommerce always requires SHOP page for proper work and you can find this page under Pages section where all pages are.

But for that i will have to import demo shop page but if i do that it will override my current settings and pages right? Or what's the solution?

No, there is no need to import anything. You should have SHOP page under Pages section. But if you don't have such page, you need to create it and then under WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Display, you need to set this shop page as shop.

To set the sidebar or to change it's position, yes, you have to. Or if you saw an option for WooCommerce plugin to change sidebar's position then you can try such option but as far as we know, WooCommerce does not have anything like this included.

I made a shop page page under pages and under permalinks shop page i added custom /product-detail/ page:

But on that page when i added sidebars it doesn't shows on products page why is that?

Like we wrote above, sidebar does not appear because you did not created SHOP page and you didn't set it under the right section as we explained it above.

I have set it under right section but please explain how to create shop page? Is it like other pages i created normally? Please explain the steps on how to create shop page i know how to set the shop page at the shop page section but i don't know how to create one.

Steps are the same as while creating a regular page.

1 step: Go to Pages section
2nd step: Click Add New
3rd step: Create page called SHOP for example
4th step: Under WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Display set up this SHOP page.

That is how i did it. I created page named Product Detail (http://temactech.com/product-detail/) and setuped it as shop page under woocommerce Display page like you told me. And i added 2 sidebars on that page but those sidebars don't appear in each product page.

And at

I added custom base:

/product-detail

Ooops, we forgot to mention that WooCommerce has already built-in sidebar and only this works with WooCommerce pages. This sidebar is named "Plugin | WooCommerce" and you can find it under Appearance > Widgets section. So all you need to do is move the widgets into this sidebar.

Please go to SHOP page edition under Pages section and do the screenshot of Page Options section, especially section where sidebars are because we really can not believe that it does not work.

Ahh i can only use left and right only got it thanks. Now i want you to belp me on another issue what i told you. I am using betheme child and its working fine the footer and header files even style.css file too but when i want to override css which are in files: layout.css, responsive.css, shortcodes.css, base.css

Even at betheme css editor it doesnt override any code from the above files. I hqve to edit in those files directly in order to change anything on those files.

So lets say i want to override /css/shortcodes.css file content i will have to copy that same location with file into child theme and add this on child theme functions.php:

wp_dequeue_style( 'shortcodes' );

wp_enqueue_style( 'shortcodes', get_stylesheet_directory_uri() .'/css/shortcodes.css' );

And then i make the changes directly at shortcodes.css in child theme right?
