Animated GIF

I need to use an animated GIF in a blog entry it should be the main image of the post.
Is there a way to do it?
It's the new year greeting and I need to put it in the page.

Hi Alvaro,

if you mean posts, then use .gif image type instead of .jpg or .png.

I am using a gif but it does not show the animation.

It seems that when I puts it in the post, the template resizes the image. Maybe there is the problem when it resizes

Please send us link where you use this .gif then. Also, please give us link (full path) to this .gif file uploaded onto your WP which does not work. Ohh and we forgot about one more thing... Did you inserted "Full Size" image the way it was explained on http://codex.wordpress.org/Inserting_Images_into_Posts_and_Pages#Image_Sizes ?

Thanks now its working. Just another question can I use animated GIFs as the main image It does not have the full size option.

You can try to upload .gif as featured image but we can not guarantee this would work because we use custom functions to resize featured images especially for our individual items.
