Hi,

I am using the BeTheme prebuilt website Design 2. Is this a child theme, or do I need to create a child theme of this?

The main template is the parent theme, you have to also install another theme called betheme-child.zip, activate it on work on this child theme. It will have all the same settings from the main theme. Remember to update only the parent theme. Thanks
