When I use anchor links in the menu, the site always scrolls to the section which is on top.

For example: If I have these two sections in my Muffinbuilder

[ Section : About Us (hide on mobile) ] Custom ID | aboutus
[ Section : About Us (hide on desktop and tablet) ] Custom ID | aboutus

The desktop website scrolls perfectly to the right section.
The mobile website however does not scroll.

When I change the two sections around, the mobile version works, the desktop version doesn't.

Is there any way around this?
  • Please send a link to your website. We will check it out.

  • It happens because you have two same ID's on the page. You cannot do that, it is a HTML error.
How do you want to do this is like this.
Create a section and give it an ID, then create a mobile section under it and leave it with no ID.
On desktop the menu click will scroll the page to the id and on mobile when the desktop version is hidden, the menu click will scroll to the same location. It is because the ID is still in the HTML but it is hidden with CSS. I hope you understood me :)
  • Hi, I understand what you mean, but it doesn't work.

Still no scroll on mobile site :(
  • I don't know why your suggestion doesn't work, but it does when I do it like this :

    [ Section : blank/empty (not hidden) ] Custom ID | aboutus
[ Section : About Us (hide on mobile) ]
[ Section : About Us (hide on desktop and tablet) ]

In this case on al devices it scroll to the empty section.
Only problem I have now is; the scroll comes to an abrupt halt, in stead of smooth scrolling.
Any suggestions on how to use smooth scrolling on the empty section?

  • I did not work before but now it works fine. Maybe you have some cache enabled and you do not see the changes?

  • Can you check the difference between the link 'Hosting en Onderhoud' and all the other links in the menu?

The 'Hosting en Onderhoud' scroll comes to an abrupt halt. The others scroll a tiny bit back, if you understand what I mean.

  • I understand what you mean but it does not do that, it acts just like the other menu elements. It is not even possible.
