Recording Enquiries in Google Analytics
  • As the URL doesn’t change once the form has been submitted we currently aren’t able to track these as goal conversions. Is it possible to execute a virtual pageview when the thankyou message displays after submitting the form? This would involve firing a request to Google Analytics which allows us to track the enquiry?

    Any help would be greatly appreciated

  • Thanks for your response, I have been suggest trying the below, if you think this would work can you tell me where I should paste it?

    Google Analytics allows virtual pageviews where we can fire off a request to Google Analytics and trigger this. As the thankyou message always displays on the contact us page (the default is display:none; on the CSS) this would track every time the contact us page loads (not when the form is submitted). I wanted to suggest doing this on the onclick event for the button: onclick="_gaq.push(['_trackPageview, '/enquiry-submitted']);"

  • Thanks for getting back to me, I have tried what you suggested, inserting ,the click value (as seen below), however is resets some of the visual appearance of the website. Can you suggest anything?

    $output .= '<input type="submit" value="'. $translate['contact-submit'] .'" onclick="_gaq.push(['_trackPageview, '/enquiry-submitted']);" />';
