Sidebar Issues
  • I am having trouble figuring out how to configure the sidebar on my website pages.  I created the sidebar in the Pindol theme options, but after it is created and I add it to my page, how do I create the actual "bars" for the sidebar?

  • I am having issues with the sidebars. I have created left and right sidebars and added widgets to them but nothing shows up on the pages. All I get is the message "This template supports the sidebar's widgets. Add one or use Full Width layout."
  • I am having the same problem.  I have done all of the steps correctly it seems, but still the message shows "This template supports the sidebar's widgets. Add one or use Full Width layout."

    1. I have created a sidebar in the theme options panel.
    2. I have added widgets to that sidebar
    3. I have selected right sidebar layout on pages.
    4. I have selected the name of my created sidebar on the pages.

still.. the sidebar does not show. please advise. thank you for your help!
  • Okay I finally figured out the problem/bug.  It seems that when there is only one sidebar created, it does not work.  And when more the one sidebars are created, the first sidebar does not work. but the others do.  hope this helps!
  • Old thread I know but the cause of some sidebar issues comes from what I'm about to post and may save some people time.

Sidebars registered via the WordPress API outside of the Pindol theme will not show in the menu on Posts or Pages view. Pindol builds sidebar related menus using 'options' => mfn_opts_get( 'sidebars' ) and not $wp_registered_sidebars. So if you create sidebars using any other plugin or theme or enter the data manually to the database. Those will not show within Pindols own forms.

I can't say if it's simply an oversight or there is a good reason why $wp_registered_sidebars cannot be used when offering users the choice of sidebar for their posts/pages. I hope it can be changed, my reason for being here.
