child theme
  • I'm working on this theme with a child theme (tisson_child) but I cannot redeclare tisson' functions because in parent theme (tisson) functions are not written in this format:

    if ( ! function_exists( 'tisson_function_name' ) ) :
    function tisson_function_name() {
    //Some code here
    }endif;

    In your theme's description you wrote :
    • Child Theme compatible

    I cannot override a parent theme's function if it doesn't have a function_exists check!
    Are you planning to correct this compatibilty issue in next update?
    Thanks a lot.

  • I need to customize the function: "sc_feature_box".
    The easiest way, normally, is to copy finctions.php (and eventually functions/theme-shortcodes.php) into my child theme directory but in this case, if i do this, I get fatal error for redeclaring the same function because the functions into parent theme doesn't have a function_exist check.
    In this case the parent theme function should be written link this:

    if ( ! function_exists( 'function sc_feature_box' ) ) :
    function sc_feature_box( $attr, $content = null ) {
    ...
    ...
    }
    }endif;

    I had to change the main function's code but, in this way, at next theme update I'll loose this customization.
    Thanks a lot.
