Custom CSS in "Theme Options Custom CSS" OR in "Customise"

There are two places to customise CSS:

Appearance >Theme Options > Custom CSS & JS > CSS

AND

Appearance > Customise > Additional CSS

They don't sync into one, as they do on another theme I use, so which should we use and why?

Hi,
It is better to use our theme options custom css because it will get saved in the database and not get overwriteen on theme update.

Crikey, so Appearance > Customise > Additional CSS gets overwritten? 

I thought only the Appearance > Editor > style.css got overwritten (and php files)?

If you want to edit php files, please make a child theme. Furthermore please do not use the Wordpress editor, it is awful, and it could seriously mess up your work.
