How to download package from Themeforest and install Be|theme?

1) How to download package from Themeforest?

At first, after purchase this theme please download package from themeforest. All you need to do that is move your mouse on your login name in right top corner (of course after you`re logged in Themeforest) and then click Download. In this place you will have all your items that you purchased. It looks exactly just like on below screen:

In next step please just click Download button next to Be|theme and save package on your computer.

In package you can find things like documentation, license, psd files, zipped file with theme files and of course folder with theme files that is called Be|theme. Please unpack whole package just after download it from Themeforest.

2) How to install & update it?

At first please make sure that you unpacked whole files as we wrote in last point. This is really important! Installation you can make in two different ways:

1. WordPress Theme Manager - please go to Appearance > Themes > Install Themes > Upload, select zipped theme folder called "betheme.zip" and press Install Now button.

2. FTP upload - upload non-zipped theme folder called Betheme to /wp-content/themes/ folder in your WordPress installation folder on your server.

In second part of this thread we would like to describe how to update Be|theme. Please make sure that you didn`t done any changes in files. If you did and you don`t want to lose them, the best way will be to use one of free available tools for compare files, ex. Beyond Compare (we are not the authors of this tool so please don`t ask us how to use it. All answears about how to use it you can find on their site). After compare this files you can upload on server only this files that hasn`t been changed.

Otherwise if you didn`t changed any theme files all you need to update your version of theme is download the latest package from themeforest, unpack files and upload new files on server instead of old files. Just overwrite them.

All your data in database are safe because theme after update files is not changing anything in database. Please always make backup of your files & database to be more safety.

Just a suggestion, at the end of section"1.3 Installation & Update", where you say:
"We included plugins like.."

Perhaps list out that the zipped files that are under ../plugins. For example, I had:

envato-wordpress-toolkit.zip
js_composer.zip
layerslider.zip
revslider.zip

This is missing several plugins, but I can easily get these from wordpress.org, but you'd avoid some of the support questions that ask about this plugin or that plugin.

This is just a suggestion, I'm still in the midst of installing but so far so good..

@gwong_bbb Yes, you're right. But we removed the plugins that can be downloaded from wordpress.org because it's better for people. If plugin is included, then people do not make the effort to take the recent version from wordpress.org and they constantly ask why we do not have recent version included. So it's better to do not include some of these plugins into the package so they can download them directly from external service.

I have tried to upload betheme.zip trough Appearance > Themes > Install Themes > Upload and trough FTP upload many times without success. In the wordpress I get

Got notified by envato that you had a new version. (I just bought yesterday) so I uploaded the new version and got a message saying it's same version and cannot be uploaded.

WAY TOO MANY BUGS. How do I get a refund?

I don't have hours to spend sifting through thousands of posts to figure out what goes where.

@RealNegotiators This is really big WOW! So far we never seen anyone with soo many bugs. You are the first one. We guarantee that it's not the same version (new version is 9.5 not 9.4) and we also guarantee that theme works properly on 100%. Bugs can be related with what you did only. But because you work on localhost, we have no chance to change what you did wrong. If you want to get refund, you must contact with Envato because they are the seller in this case.

@RealNegotiators Your message was removed because your words are inappropriate. There is no need to be so rude. It's not our false that you work on localhost which is probably wrong configured. If you will explain what exactly is wrong, then we'll try to help you because the message you sent above is completely incomprehensible. There is no information when this happen exactly. Whole installation process was described on http://themes.muffingroup.com/betheme/documentation/#general so we do not understand where the problem exactly is and what is so difficult for you.

The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

@Lilyjimz But this is what we refer to for all the time. The theme files you upload is named betheme.zip. Your file, is complete TF package which contain 2 versions of theme, doc, slides and much more. You are installing the wrong file.

Hey,

I have tried uploading the theme via FTP and wp-admin, it is not working.

I am seeing this message, I know it is an issue with my host but was just wondering if you know what it means? I have emailed my host's support too:

I realised that, just wanted to know if you heard of this happening before or knew anything.

Guess I'll have to change hosting provider... Their support is not as fast as you guys, and I want this theme live.

I just bought the them yesterday (092515). Is this a newer version? Also, I am using the Child Theme, how does the upgrade work when using that? Thank you!

@cidcreative It depends what time you bought it. Just check in your back-end if you got latest 9.7.1 version. Update, will overwrote only parent theme files. But please remember to update files via FTP only because it's the safest method.

the new theme error is a big headache. I have tired to install it 3 different ways. Whatever was change in the upgrade was not good. I've have nothing but good things to say about the theme - especially the 1 click option, but what's the point if we can't install it.

@LadyDee1 Can you explain what is your "new theme error"? So far everything works fine and thousands of people are able to install theme and import pre-made layouts.
