Is it possible to have the menu highlight effect without the rounded corners and without white space between menu items ?

Try this custom css

.menu-highlight:not(.header-creative) #Top_bar .menu > li > a {
	border-radius: 0 !important;
}
.menu-highlight #Top_bar .menu > li {
	margin: 0 !important;
}
