Filter by Section Not showing up on Home page or category pages

  I don't see the bar that says "Filter by: Tags, Categories etc..."

  
  

  I see a section on the single post page that has "Tags" and "Categories" as a dropdown list but only on the single post page... NOT on the home page or pages with mulitple posts.

  Hi,
  are we talking about blog or portfolio.
  If it is the blog then please go to settings>reading and set the 'posts page' as your main blog page.

  I don't want to do that because I want to use the latest posts as the home page and the option to set the posts page is grayed out if I do that. If I do set the home page as the static front page the posts don't show up and the page title is at the top (which I don't want on the home page). Is there any way to show that dropdown filter menu when setting Front page displays to Your latest posts.

  Sorry then, but the blog items have limited functionality, only the main blog page has these options.

  Then how it is done on the home page of the journalist template demo? There is no page title

  This is the blog item with the style set to " masonry tiles"
  And the section style is set to "full-width"
