Menu dropdown too far from parent

Hello,

I found a tread that was similar to my issue but it didn't help me. Please see this site: http://elliottcove.staging.wpengine.com/

I have tried to change menu types and haven't accomplished the look that I am going for. I would like to have the dropdown closer to the parent. They are too far away for my taste. Is there a way to do this?

I need to add one thing. I uploaded a background image to the header but only a sliver of it is showing. What am I doing wrong?

Hi,
it is fine, the menu pops up below the header because you have streched the header with the logo. Either resize the logo, or set it to overflow - you can do it in theme options>global>logo

My apologies for leaving your question unanswered. The image is in the subheader. Is there a way to have the background image show in the header? I've tried a few different options and the header background image hasn't been visible.

There is no image selected for the header, please first go to theme options>header & subheader> header and set the header image.
