Slider Revolution and Visual Composer Fail to Update

I had to deactivate all my plugins when I migrated my site from my local WAMP server to my hosting company.  Once it was live on our domain, there were no options to Activate the Slider Revolution and Visual Composer plugins, only the option to Update.  When I try to update the Slider Revolution plugin, here is what I get:

The package could not be installed. The package contains no files.

Plugin update failed.

Return to Required Plugins Installer [Links visible only for registered users]


I get something similar for the Visual Composer plugin.  Other plugins that came with the BeTheme, including the Layer Slider, work fine.  How do I update these plugins?

Also, please know that I am a WordPress novice. I tried searching the forum for similar questions, but I just got more confused.  Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!
