Error Activating Revolution Slider Plugin

Hi,

I am trying to ACTIVATE the Revolution Slider Plugin but I have got instead the below error message:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Warning: require_once(/home/travell4/public_html/wp-content/plugins/revslider/admin/revslider-admin.class.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/travell4/public_html/wp-content/plugins/revslider/revslider.php on line 168

Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required '/home/travell4/public_html/wp-content/plugins/revslider/admin/revslider-admin.class.php' (include_path='.:/opt/alt/php71/usr/share/pear') in /home/travell4/public_html/wp-content/plugins/revslider/revslider.php on line 168

Can you please advise how I can fix this and activate this plugin.

Please note that I installed your theme and the plugins via WordPress Theme Manager/Dashboard.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Kind regards,

Cally

    thanks
  • Hi,

I am a novice so can you please advise step by step how I can uninstall the Revolution Slider plugin and re-install it again correctly. I can't see any uninstall button on the dashboard where the plugins are listed. I also want to be sure not to delete any files that I may need to re-install the plugin.

Can you also advise how best to disable the other plugins - is this simply de-activating them?

    Thanks and kind regards,
    Cally
  • Hi,
you cannot remove the plugin from 'install plugins'
Please go to 'Plugins' screen: http://prntscr.com/h2mmk5
First click 'deactivate' and then you will remove the plugin.
After that just go to 'install plugins' again and install the slider.
    thanks
  • Hi

I think you have mis-understood me.

You have advised above you want me to UNINSTALL the Revolution Slider but as advised above I DO NOT have this option.

I have followed your guidelines above and went to the "Plugins" page and Deactivated ALL plugins. However this HAS NOT uninstalled them - only deactivated them. Therefore the Revolution Slider plugin is still installed BUT NOT Active, but then again it was not active before as this was my original issue - I could not activate the plugin as get an error message. I have tried to Activate it again since deactivating all the other plugins BUT the error is still occurring.

I even went to the BeTheme Install Plugins page and selected the Revolution Slider plugin to "Install" even though already installed but I just get a message "no plugins are available to be installed at this time". See screen shot: http://prntscr.com/h3dwj6. Also, when I try to active the plugin from this area the page displayed is just blank and it is not activating the plugin.

Therefore, I need you to advise how to UNINSTALL the Revolution Slider Plugin so I can try to install it again as that is what you have advised in your first comment that I should do to fix this error. You also advise to disable my other plugins which I have now done by de-activating them. So now I just need assistance in uninstalling the Revolution Slider plugin correctly - then installing it again correctly without loosing all the files. Can you provide a step by step guide on how to do this. If cannot do this via WordPress dashboard - can I do this by the CPanel of my web hosting server provider? If so, how do I do this?

Please reply ASAP as have been trying to resolve this issue for a week now.

Here are some further print screen shots to show you what I am seeing:
    Top of Plugin Page: http://prntscr.com/h3dvfd
    Bottom of Plugin Page: http://prntscr.com/h3dvqq

Thanks again for your time and assistance.

    Kind regards,
    Cally

  • Hello,
So you do not see the "Delete" button in your screenshots?
    http://prntscr.com/h3su82
This is only a plugin, please stay calm, there will much much worse things to worry about when making websites;)
    Cheers.
  • Hi,

Yes, I do have a "Delete" option here :)

Once I press this I get asked about deleting all the files. Should I say "Yes, delete all files"?

Once I do this, wouldn't the whole plugin be removed from WordPress Dashboard? Or will it still be there and I then I will be able to "Install" it again?

Sorry, i do feel a bit overwhelmed by it all so thank you for your patience and assistance.

    Kind regards,
    Cally
  • Dear Cally, no worries. It will not delete your existing sliders.
  • Hi,

I have been able to delete the Revolution Slider plugin and re-install it. I have also been able to successfully activate the plugin with no issues or error as well as re-activate all my other plugins.

Thank you so much for your patience and assisting me with this issue. It is greatly appreciated.

    Kind regards,
    Cally
