How to style tags?

Hi - I see that many articles on Wordpress sites show the tags of a story above the headline or below the story and they look like this: https://imgur.com/a/OLYKp

I can't figure out how to do similar on my site towsonflyer.com (Be Theme "press). Can you help?

For example, this story has the tags Culture, Around Town, Events at the top:

Sorry but it would require theme files customization, we cannot make the tags or categories on top. We can only help you with a little custom css to change the appaerance.

What do you mean, you have to tell us what you want to change exactly. Moving elements like, tags or categories will require direct theme file change which we do not support.

You said you can give me CSS to change the appearance to look like the example I sent. (Tag name in a small rectangle.) So I'd like the CSS for that. Thanks.

What I'm trying to do is figure out how to:

A) get tags to show up at the story level (above or below story; either way works)

and

How to style the tags ("giving" and "lifeline" at the story level so that they look like the tags in this story:

When I go to Theme Options - Blog, Portfolio, Shop - Blog and check Post Meta "categories and tags," then at the top of my posts I see a drop down of tags and categories. Readers only see the tags, categories if they click the drop down. I want the tags to just show up like they do in the example I sent

Yes, but as I said before we cannot help you with modyfing the theme files to get your look, this is not simple css but you need to change the HTML/PHP structure in the files.

The styles we offer in the theme options are the only ones we have available.
