How do I reduce the header size from 700 to 300 on the sub-pages, but leave as is on the home page?

you probably mean the subheader, you can change the height of the subheader in theme options>header&subheader>subheader by setting up the padding values.
It will not work for individual pages so we suggest creating either a slider or a custom section for the main page.

under the Slider Settings on the page, I selected this slider.
When I viewed the page, it showed the rev slider just above my text and not
in the header area instead.
Do you have a tutorial on how to do this?
