Visual composer stopped working

Hi

The visual composer plugin stopped working for me as I noticed it messed up the frontend part of my website [Links visible only for registered users] it shows shortcodes instead of content.

On wp-admin side the plugin is shown as inactive but there is no button to Activate it. [Links visible only for registered users] when I try to update it, it cant be done and it just writes that the process is unsuccessful please try again.

What should i do?
