Remove featured image from post

Hi, I'd like to have featured images in my posts so that the thumbnails show up on the blog page, but I do not want the image to be in the post itself. I prefer to manually add the images so I can control size and placement.

Can you please tell me how to keep the featured images from showing up in the posts, but still show up on the blog page?

Or, if it is easier, how to make each featured image a custom size? Some of my images are smaller than the featured image size and do not fit correctly into the "frame."

Do I need to edit one of the css files in the appearance editor?

No, you don't need to edit any files because we do not recommend to do this. Each css should be pasted into special section - Theme options > Layout > Custom CSS & JS > Custom CSS section.
