I also found this discussion because I need a transparent footer. Sure, I could achieve that with CSS, but it would be nice if you could embed transparency options into the Colors section of Betheme Options in general.
I have a page that has one big background image, so I only want the footer (copyright) text to show and no background.
Also, perhaps options to change said colors/transparency options on a per-page basis (I have this background only on my front page).
We may consider it when we will get more requests about it and when we finish features and fixes that currently await in queue. Please understand that we can not add any feature you just want because lot’s of users uses poor hosting services and more options/features means higher server requirements. So if we will do necessary tests and decide that it does not charge server resources to much, then we will consider adding them of course.

There is only the option in theme options>global>general under the transparent option you can select footer.
