Licenses when site moved

I have a client who I designed a bespoke site using y own childtheme for betheme.
The client wants to now move to a marketing company with his site.
As I understand it the licence for his betheme belongs to me. I also understand  from your terms and conditions that the licence isn't chargeable.

So what is the process if the site gets moved and no longer under my care and servers, do I remove his licence and reuse it on another client, or do I gift him the licence?

  • Hi,
You can manage(deregister) your license key with this tool:
You can register unlimited subdomains with one license key, as long as the main domain is registered under the same key.
    Cheers

  • hi Pablo
thanks for help, though that isnt quite answering my original question.
my question is more aboit the legality of licence ownership when the wordpress theme moves out of my control.
if the site ive built and registered and hosted with a licence for a client moves servers, managers and ownership....
legally ...do i now need to deregister and use my licence on my next client and tell my old client he will need to register his moved site ?

  • If your license key is used on one domain (at the same time), then it's okay.
You can use it on your client's server - there is no problem with gifting the license key.

But, if you'll change the domain too many times, it could get blocked due to security reasons.
Then, you will have to contact us to unlock your license key.
    Thanks
