  The BeTheme license is a lifetime, and you don't have to renew the license to use BeTheme.
  But, Customer Support license is limited, I mean, you have to renew it every half year (depends for long you've bought it)

  I have the exact same issue.
  
  Tried to update Layer Slider and Slider Revolution.
  Got the update error. 

  The dashboard mentions the api server is blocked and I should contact my hosting provider.
  Checked the license via the tool you provided and it told me support has expired. 

  
  

  Does this mean I can't update the theme or the required or recommended plugins anymore?

  
  

  I'm confused on what to do now.

  It's license for the support only - whole betheme is going to work fine.

  For that problem with api server you have to contact the hosting provider, he is the only one who can fix that problem.

  In this case our hands are tied.
