Blog page has disappeared after WordPress 5.1.1 update

  Hello. I'm not seeing the form you are talking about. 

  
  

  Looking at the LAC Correspondence page again, the Menu Bar and Footer are missing as if the page is using a blank template instead of the default muffin template. Only the Action Bar and page Header are showing.

  Also, if add any content to the page using the Muffin Builder, it does not show up on the page. When I'm logged into the WP Dashboard and I'm previewing the page, the WP Admin bar doesn't show either.

  In the meantime, I copied my production site to my staging server and created a new blog page. When I created the new page, the "Template" drop down field where I can select a template was showing under "Page Attributes".

  Next when I go to Settings > Reading and select this page as my post page, it breaks something as the "Template" field is now gone on my newly created post page.

  Hey,

  this is because Wordrpess remove the template option for the blog page. You should not edit this page at all. It should work by its own.

  The error is caused by the child theme, please switch to the parent theme and check again if the error is present.

  Thank you for your help! This has resolved my issue. I removed the customized index.php file in the Child Theme folder so the theme is now using the Parent Theme index.php file. The blog page is now showing.
