Hello!

Are you using the default blog page, did you set it in settings>reading?

If you are using a blog item, then set the order by edititng the item. Option available in the theme options will nto work in items.

Still no luck. I have a custom template setup called "category-applications.php" and it is displaying properly I just can't get it to sort.

At a minimum I'd like to sort desc by date, random would be interesting.

Also, how can I change the "Read more" to anything else from the category-applications.php page?

Please send a link to that page, I suppose that your theme is outdated or it's a plugin conflict.

I have to inspect that.

If you would like to change the "Read More" text, then you don't have to edit your theme files, just go to the Theme Options > Translate > Blog & Portfolio, there you will find it: http://prntscr.com/o7sc0z

You cannot change the read more, from the theme options. You would have to modify the theme files an edit the code, which we sadly do not support on this forum.

The category pages are loaded automatically and the style is taken from the main blog style.

To change the order of main blog post page please go to the Theme Options > Blog, Portfolio & Shop > Blog

It's no the main blog post page it's a separate custom template.

You didn't follow my steps above.

Your settings were set in item to order by title and ascending

But I do not see the difference.

Also, the date sorting is not working even in wordpress because you have 59(?!) plugins enabled.

It's surely problem with these plugins, there is a lot of them and they can corrupt the proper way of ordering blog items.
