link email adress in footer (widget) opening new page instead of new email in email client

Hi there,

Is there a way to make a mailto link which opens a new email message?

I've tried this one, but it opens a new page.

Do I have to make a setting somewhere?

Hey Wendy,

this should work fine, it is a standard HTML redirect to a default mail client.

Maybe there is something wrong with the settings on your PC or the browser.

Could you try some other browsers or PCs?

If this still occurs, please send us a link and point to this so we can check.

Thanks for your reply. I've tried other browsers and a PC and on my iphone. But in all cases the link opens a pagina with 'Oooops...Error 404.

I've checked the options in e.g. firefox for mailto and it says to open a emailclient.

So it looks like there's some setting within the theme which I have to set.

The url is

You'll see a contact page, and the same link is in the footer.

Do you know another option to try?

Please remove the " sign from beginning of the text.

After that, it should work fine.
