Active Link color Issue

Background: I have a navigation menu with, Home, About, and Contact.
Question: If I make About a drop-down menu and I link About to the home page (www.example.com/#), how do I make sure the Active Link color for the About drop-down menu does not remain active similar to the Home button, when the user is currently on the Home page? Because, both Home and About have Active Link colors when the user is on the Home page. I believe this is happening because the code thinks About is also considered as the Home page. I don't want About to have an Active Link color when the user is on the Home page. Only Home page should have an Active Link color.

do you have any url where we can have a look on it?
Sure, look at About, Students, and Enroll in menu. They are active -- we don't want them to be.
