Critical Error on Blog Page

Followed the video directions for setting up the blog page and receive a Critical Error on the page. I deactivated the template and the page loads fine. I tried removing plugins and clearing the cache, all the usual things. Still no luck. Page is https://lendah.com/blog. Thanks for your help.

  • Hello,
Is your WP up to date?
Also, is your PHP Version 7 or higher?
    Thanks
  • Yes to both!
  • Tell me, did you try to disable all of the plugins and check if the issue still exists?
    Thanks
  • Yes, disabling the plugins didn't work, but disabling the child theme did. I then tried just the main Be Theme and that worked. I did not create or edit the child theme, what should I be looking for?
  • Looks like the developer added an index.php to the child theme and it conflicted with the newer versions of the main theme. I removed it and all is well. Thanks. In your child theme included with the package, it only has the function.php file. Is it safe to have copies of the header and footer files in there as well?
  • If switching the Child Thene solved the problem it means that you changed something - if not, just leave the Parent Theme active or reinstall the child theme because not-changed child theme is the same as parent theme.
    Thanks
