Multisite Betheme (Header + Permalinks)

Good day Madam or Sir,

I have used Betheme (+ header builder plugin because the 'normal' header options are way to limited) on a single site install fine until now but needed to migrate to a multisite subdomain setup.

I am using the child-theme option to have changes persistent across updates.

When I tried to change the header of my subdomain-2nd site it applied the changes to my primary site as well.
This is obviously not what I would like it to behave, how do I create an other header on the 2nd site w/o affecting the primary site (and vise versa obviously)?

Additionally my links on the secondary site (to blog posts etc.) are not getting redirected correctly and always end up on the 404 of the primary site. What do I need to do about that?

Godspeed

  • Hello,
the child theme is only for when you want to edit the theme files directly and not have them reverted to the original form when you update the theme.

The multisite is a very specific wordpress type of creating multiple copies of the website.
Its not easy, its not even theme related since its mostly done in the default wordpress envirioment and it relays strongly on your hosting settings. You should:
    1. Contact your hosting provider and ask about the multisite options.
    2. Disable all plugins
    3. Go to theme options>global>advanced and set the table prefix options to: prefix

We suggest using a single domain, and then attach subdomains to this page. Its easier for development and you can use one license key.
    thanks
  • Thank you for your response,

I have set up the multisite network with subdomains like you suggested as well.
I did change disable all plugins and changed the table settings from "base_prefix" to just "prefix" and restarted the server afterwards.
Unfortunately it is the same header from your Betheme header builder plugin that is displayed on all my sites. Additionally when I change it, the header on all sites change as well.

Can you please advise me how to set up individual headers using you flexible header plugin.

    Godspeed and stay safe.
  • But, did you make the multisite network?
If you are using the subdomain you don't have to use it, please revert that.

Just create multiple instations of WP and Betheme on domain and subdomains, you can use the same license key, but before registering subdomains, your main domain has to be registered.
    Thanks
  • Good day,

multisite has some good advantages for our setup regarding user management and general administration over multiple WP instances.

How is it possible to make the Betheme settings do not apply to each multisite installation, for example changing the Logo or Header for each subdomain site individually?
Is there a guideline to follow you can provide me?

    Godspeed
  • Indeed, there is a problem with multisite and header builder - we are currently finding the way how to fix that.

For now, the only way to workaround it is by using normal headers.
I'll tell you when it will be fixed in this topic.

    Sorry for the problem.
    Thanks

  • Looking forward to the development,

we cannot go back to the normal header for design reasons and
need Betheme to support the offered separate multisite capabilities.

    Thanks for your effort :)
  • We are still working about it.
Surely, it will be fixed in the next update of the Header Builder.

    Thanks
  • I got information from the developers, and they told me, that it will be included in today update of the header builder ;)

    Greetings
