managing licences key with different environments

Hi there

I wanted to update our BeTheme them but couldn't because, from my understanding, licence key doesn't support having several environment. 
We have 3 environments: Dev. Staging and Production.
Usually we make minor changes on Staging and push them on Production

How can I manage several environment with a single licence key? Should I deregister the Prod environment and use the key only on Staging?

    all of the themes on the envato market are under the same license,
    details: https://themeforest.net/licenses/standard
    You can use one license per end product, so you can use any pre-built website you desire or mix them but you cannot use the theme license on two domains.
    The only exceptions are for subdomains or subfolders. You can register unlimited subdomains with one license key, as long as the main domain is registered under the same key.
    This also applies to subfolder on localhost installations.

    something odd is happening:
    on my dev environment, the theme is unregistered but I can see a slider in one of my pages

    on the Staging environment, the theme is registered but I don't have access to my sliders

    How can I put the slider back on my Staging (and Production) environment?
  • Did you import one of the demos on your "staging" environment? The subdomain won't inherit installed sliders.

    Also, did you make the subdomain or connected it in multisite?

  • I don't understand what you are saying. 

    What I did more than 6 months ago was build a new website with your theme on a development environment. I used a slider in this page: https://devcannara.wpengine.com/en/platform/

    Then in WP Engine, I copied this environment to my Staging environment (https://cannarastaging.wpengine.com/platform/) and the slider was working perfectly.

    Once the website was ready for Production, I copied the Staging environment to Prod and, once again, the slider was working perfectly.

    Then 1 week ago, I tried to update your theme (and maybe the slider as well, I don't remember) on my Staging environment and it didn't work (as my OP states)

    So I deregistered the theme on the development environment first, since I don't use this environment anymore, thinking I would be able to update the theme on Staging.

    Then a couple of days later, while making some changes on Staging, I realized that the slider on the Platform page doesn't appear anymore (https://cannarastaging.wpengine.com/platform/). 

    How can I get the slider back to my Staging environment?

  • I cannot enter on the (https://cannarastaging.wpengine.com/platform/), it asks me for a login credentials.
    Also, we had a bug with sliders indeed, but it's fixed already - are you sure that your theme is up to date?

  • This message could mean that your license key is used on more than one domain. Please use the license manager to handle your license keys:
    http://forum.muffingroup.com/betheme/discussion/36219/cannot-register-deregister-your-license-key-use-this-tool#latest

    If you see (on our license manager) that your license key is registered on a single domain, then please disable all of the plugins and deregister that license key (through the BeTheme > Dashboard)
    After that, get into the license manager once more, if the license key is still claimed - deregister it, if it’s not, register it again on your domain (through the BeTheme > Dashboard) and try to update your theme/plugins couple of times (usually it pass after 2-3 attempts) - remember, all of the plugins have to be disabled.

  • Right now, the license manager says "Wrong username or purchase code.
    Please use only purchase codes that has been used to register the theme and the username used at the time of purchase."

    I remember deregistering it on our development environment originally because I couldn't update the theme.
    But it's still registered on Staging and Prod.

    When you say disable all plugins, you mean all my website's plugins or only the one related to the theme?

  • This error message can mean that you made a mistake while putting your purchase code or username.
    Please, check you did not put a space anywhere or make any typos.

    I mean all your website plugins.

    Also, let me know if Staging and Prod are registered on the subdomains or different domains because our license terms say that you can use one purchase code per domain.

  • I've put that license key 10 times. Please don't assume the problem is on my side, it will help us fix the problem faster. 

    Right now, my website (cannara.ca) (which was working perfectly before I tried to update the theme) is missing a slider on one of our pages.

    Right now the theme is registered under different domains as stated in my previous posts. 

    Does that make a difference since the licence manager was working when the theme was registered on 3 environments instead of 2 (dev, staging, prod)?

    We, as the support forum, are not able to check what can be the problem with the license keys, you have to ask for through the form mentioned above.
