Builder > Seo does nothing

I have a wordpress site working great... latest version of WP and betheme.  Getting around to using Yoast to seo the site and the builder > seo is not working.  Does nothing.  Then , if I click export, it really does nothing, with a warning that it is in fact doing something.  I let it run all night, same result of nothing.  What to do?
