Favicon in mobile search results on Google instead of WordPress logo

Dear supporters,

this inquiry is concerned with the following site, I have built using BeTheme:

https://www.zahn-in.de/

While the favicon, I have uploaded using Muffin Options, is properly used on the browser tabs by Chrome and Firefox (on both desktop and mobile devices), it does not show up in the mobile search results on Google.

Instead, the WordPress logo is shown, which creates a somewhat unprofessional impression:

Is there a way to change this?

Thank you for taking a look at this.

Regards,

Christian

  • Hello,

I have tested your website on three devices, desktop with Windows (Chrome, Firefox), Oppo AX7 (Chrome) and iPhone 12 (Safari), and the favicon works fine.

    Did you solve this problem?

  • Dear Phil,

    thank you for your response.

For some reason I do not understand, Google uses the favicon for its mobile search results now. I have not changed anything on the website, that might explain the change in Google's behavior.

    Regards,

    Christian

  • It usually takes a couple of days for Google to update some information, so that might be the reason why you had this issue.
