cannot add new photos to an existing gallery

Hi,

I am trying to add some new photos to an existing gallery. There are already 19 images in the gallery and I'd like to add a few more. When I click on the browse button to go to the media library, the library never loads. I just get the spinning loading icon forever.

On other smaller galleries, when I try to add new images it sometimes deletes the images that are currently there and just puts the new ones in. In the smallest galleries, it works perfectly and adds the new images with no problem, keeps the current images and works just the way it should.

Is there some limit on the number of images that can be added to a gallery? Can you help me resolve this issue?

The domain in question is https://www.2ndcareerdroneservices.com/photo-gallery/

Thanks so much.

Debbie

  • Hello,

Please, turn off all of the plugins, refresh your cache, and check if the problem persists.

Moreover, if you use a child theme, switch to parent, and recheck it.

Also, please share with us your PHPINFO file.

If you do not know how to do it, please check this topic:

  • Thank you for your quick response.

I have switched to the parent theme and turned off all plugins. I turned them back on, one by one and found that the problem starts when Rank Math SEO is activated. It also partially worked when Wordfence Security was turned on. With Wordfence activated, it loaded the media library (very slowly), but then when I chose the photo to add, the photo gallery appeared to be completely blank -- no photos showing up in it on the edit page. However, when I looked at it on the front end, the original photos were still there, but it didn't add the new photo to the gallery. When I went back to the edit page, the gallery appeared normally again, just without the new photo.

I can live without Rank Math, but I really need for it to work with Wordfence activated. It has been working for the last year with no issues. This problem appeared sometime after the last few updates of the theme/plugins. I'm not sure when exactly as I have not needed to add new photos until recently.

Thanks so much for your help.

  • Sorry, but we did not test this plugin with the theme. Our policy states that we do not support third-party plugins or custom code, so, unfortunately, we cannot help you.

Also, we cannot recommend any plugins other than the ones we support. You can find the list on this page, in the sidebar:

In that case, I suggest contacting the plugin author instead.

    Thanks
