Combined themes?

I am having an issue where more than one theme is combined. When I try to download the default it does not work properly. Yet, when I choose any other theme it says it has completed, but only results in a mixture of themes - using BeTheme Demo Data.

I am having a difficult time starting from scratch with a new theme without a previous theme being combined with my new selection. Is there something I am doing wrong or need to delete before using Theme Demo Data more than once?
