I would like the background for the testimonials section to be the same color as the rest of the default theme options.
Or, if you NEED a visual cue, like this (ps, ignore the green areas, I didn't want to have to spend a time of time doing graphical editing... I'm hoping this is enough for you to get the idea):
But for this section we did not used "Testimonials" item. For this section we used "Section" item with the following settings http://pasteboard.co/WOrSptF.png and inside we used "Column" item with below code:
[image src="http://themes.muffingroup.com/be/itservice/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/home_itservice_quote.png" align="center" border="0"] [divider height="30"] <h2 style="margin: 0 7%; line-height: 120%;">Lorem quis bibendum auctor, nisi elit consequat ipsum sagittis sem nibh id elit. Duis sed odio sit amet nibh vulputate cursus a sit amet mauris. Morbi accumsan.</h2> [divider height="30"] <h4 style="color: #218136; font-weight: 700;">- Mark Jefferson</h4>
But to do something similar with current Testimonials item, you must put this item into own section, set background color and custom class name for section and then write some custom css for this section to make transparent background for testimonials.
It means that if the code we provided above does not fit to your needs, you must play with custom css for sections and move testimonials item into own section.
Ok, thanks. I will look for the testimonials css for the IT-Services theme, then copy that over to the theme I am currently using. Can you tell me which file the css for the tesimonials section is?
OK, that did it. I just put it in its own section, then added the background color to the entire section! Very easy.

However, the background with the text is off color.... is there a way to correct this? Also, the text renders near the top of the section... whereas I'd like it to be in the middle.

so you want this background to be transparent or what?

Can you elaborate what you mean by that string of words?
1. Testimonials must have own section.
2. The section where testimonials are, must have own CLASS NAME
3. After these things, you must write custom css for section where testimonials are. If you don't know how, please take a look at http://themes.muffingroup.com/betheme/documentation/#theme-customizations where we explained how to use Firebug.
Hope this will help you!
